There are so many options for cable these days, that it can be a pretty difficult decision as to which company you choose. Although you may be excited to get your television cable set up as soon as possible, you should absolutely be weary about the companies that are offering cable and inquire about how long you are going to be held accountable for paying them, and understand if there are going to be any increases in your bill as time goes on.

Increasing Bills

This is a classic trick that these cable companies employ. They will get you to sign a two year contract and it will say that you have a fairly low bill. Then, your bill will essentially double, or even go up more than that, if you can imagine, and people get incredibly angry. Unfortunately, they were preyed upon by the cable company, because they know that a ton of people are completely ignorant when it comes to noticing that their bills will go up at a later date, and sign the contract. This is the same tactics that were used twenty or thirty years ago, when people were sold homes that had mortgages that they could afford, without understanding that the mortgage was going to go up to such a rate that they would lose the house later on. Everything they paid for the house was basically free money, and this is a technique that is often utilized today. The point here is to read exactly what the contract says and be sure that you are not going to get slapped with increases in your monthly bill over time. Make sure also that they do not have something in the contract stating that the company can change their costs if they choose to.
